The agenda focuses on developing essential skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting decisions from key international courts such as the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

dr Anna Adamska – Gallant
Dr. Anna Adamska-Gallant – Judge at the European Court of Human Rights
Dr. Anna Adamska-Gallant holds a Ph.D. in law and serves as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights. She is a recognized expert in the fields of justice and the rule of law. For 17 years, she served as a judge in Poland and the Balkans, specializing in criminal law. From 2013 to 2018, she was an international judge within the European Union’s Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, adjudicating, among other cases, on war crimes committed during the armed conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. In 2015, she was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Kosovo. Since 2018, she has worked as an independent expert on justice and the rule of law, collaborating with institutions such as Expertise France, the Council of Europe, and the World Bank. She is also actively involved in the process of establishing independent courts in Ukraine.
dr Julia Kapelańska – Pręgowska
Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Rights, Faculty of Law and Administration, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland. She holds a PhD in International Law from Nicolaus Copernicus University. She is an alumna of human rights courses at Europa-Universität Viadrina, Institut des Droits de l’Homme in Strasbourg, and anti-discrimination courses at the Academy of European Law (ERA). A visiting researcher (Bohdan Winiarski Scholarship in International Law, 2017) at the Lauterpacht Centre of International Law, University of Cambridge. She currently serves as the Vice-Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Comparative Law Review. She is a member of the International Law Association (Polish Group) and the European Association of Health Law.
Her research focuses on various aspects of international human rights law (IHRL) and comparative law, with a particular interest in biomedical standards, anti-discrimination law, and the protection of vulnerable groups. Her PhD thesis, “Legal and bioethical aspects of genetic testing”, was awarded 1st prize in a competition for the best PhD thesis defended in Poland in 2010. Principal investigator in research grants from the Polish National Science Center (NCN) and the Foundation for Polish Science. A certified tutor of the Council of Europe (CoE) HELP Program. She is also an NCU team coach and judge in international human rights moot court competitions.
dr Zuzanna Kulińska-Kępa
Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of International Air and Space Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, founder of the Manfred Lachs Center for Space Law. She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and the French-Polish Master’s Studies in French and European Business Law at the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Management of the University of Poitiers. She was a scholarship recipient of The Hague Academy of International Law (2016). Since 2017, she has been a member of the Polish delegation to the Legal Subcommittee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. Since 2019, she has been listed as an attorney at the Warsaw Bar Association.
For over 20 years, she has held various managerial positions at Amnesty International. She is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Space Technology Park – Research, Development, and Innovation. She specializes in space law, international human rights law, humanitarian aid, and international organizations. At the University of Warsaw, she teaches, among other subjects, sustainable development in outer space, space law, or human rights.
dr Małgorzata Myl-Chojnacka
Dr Małgorzata Myl-Chojnacka holds a PhD in Law and is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Her research interests primarily focus on international human rights law, international criminal law, and international humanitarian law. She has conducted field research on reconciliation processes and the legal situation of victims and their families in countries such as Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Rwanda. Currently, her work focuses on the rights of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
She is a scholarship recipient of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation and a laureate of the Silesian Science Award. She graduated with honors from the Academy of Young Diplomats at the European Academy of Diplomacy. For her monograph titled Family Members as Victims of Serious Human Rights Violations: A Study in International Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law, she received the First Degree Award from the International Law Association (Polish Branch).
dr hab. Anna Kosińska, prof. US
dr Ewa Milczarek
A graduate of the University of Szczecin, she obtained a doctorate in social sciences in the discipline of law. Since 2016, he has been an employee of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, currently as an assistant professor. She specializes in international and constitutional law. Her research area includes the protection of human rights in the context of socio-economic changes. Author of many scientific publications. Active participant in international research projects, influencing the development of legal standards.
mgr Agnieszka Kotula-Empringham
A graduate of the University of Surrey (MA) and the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Warsaw, she is an academic teacher at the English Philology Faculty of the University of Szczecin. With 15 years of experience in translation and conference interpreting, she has translated and proofread hundreds of pages of law-related scholarly papers and chapters in edited volumes for renowned publishing houses. Her professional expertise focuses on legal translation and academic language, contributing to the dissemination of legal scholarship in international contexts.
mgr Dariusz Zagrodzki
Aleksandra Bołoz
Aleksandra Bołoz is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of the University of Szczecin. She has completed internships at the European Parliament and the European Foundation of Human Rights. Her research focuses on human rights and international law. She actively participates in international projects, such as the Summer Law School on Human Rights in Utrecht.
