On April 16, 2026, Dr. Ewa Milczarek delivered a lecture entitled “What is Digital Sovereignty?” at the University of Szeged (Hungary) as part of the International Relations course in the Protection of Human Rights.

The course discussed the impact of digitalization on state sovereignty, with particular emphasis on issues such as global data management, the role of transnational technology corporations, and the relationship between national legal systems and international regulations.

On November 10, 2025, Dr. Ewa Milczarek delivered a guest lecture at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, titled “Strategies of Digital Sovereignty: From China to the USA.”

During her presentation, Dr. Milczarek presented contemporary digital sovereignty strategies being developed by the world’s largest technological powers—China and the United States—and discussed their impact on the global digital order. The lecture addressed, among other topics, data regulation, control of digital infrastructure, and the role of the public and private sectors in shaping technology policy.

The trip provided an excellent opportunity to foster international cooperation and exchange knowledge and experiences between academic communities in Poland and the United States.


 

Dr. Michał Peno participated in the nationwide debate “35 Years of Franchising in Poland – Evolution, Revolution, and the Future,” organized by “Wprost.” As Director of the Department of Civil and Commercial Law at the Ministry of Justice, he brought a legislative perspective to the discussion and the issue of protecting the weaker party in franchise agreements, emphasizing the practical importance of these solutions for the market.

He also participated in the High Level Forum on Automated Contracting organized by the European Law Institute. The forum, chaired by Sir Geoffrey Vos, brought together representatives from the courts, the European Commission, and the academic community. The program included a presentation on “Guiding Principles and Model Rules on Digital Assistants for Consumer Contracts,” which sets the direction for legal development in the technology field.

From December 1-3, 2025, Dr. Michał Peno participated in the work of the UN UNCITRAL AC-OP in Paris. The meeting, organized by the French government with the support of the UNCITRAL Secretariat, focused on the operationalization of the Advisory Centre for the International Settlement of Investment Disputes. Dr. Peno’s participation was significant in shaping solutions in the field of international trade law.

 

 


On October 13–18, 2025, Dr. Aleksandra Klich participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Teaching Mobility program at MEF University in Istanbul (Turkey). During her stay, Dr. Klich gave lectures to students on the topics of “Standards of Proof in Civil Proceedings: Balancing Fairness and Efficiency” and “Standards of Proof in Medical Law and Healthcare Disputes.”

 

 

 

 

 

 


On October 1–3, 2025, Dr hab. Daniel Dąbrowski took part in the 9th International Conference on Transport in Benicassim, Spain. The event was organized by the Institute of Transport Law (Instituto Universario de Derecho del Transporte) based at the Universitat Jaume I de Castellon. As a guest speaker at the round table discussion entitled “Modernization of Land Transport Law,” Dr hab. Daniel Dąbrowski presented a paper “Filling the Gaps? The Consignee’s Liability for Charges Relating to the Carriage under the CMR Convention and National Laws.”

This is an important voice in the international discussion on the direction of changes in transport law. Prior to the conference, Dr hab. Daniel Dąbrowski also participated in a meeting of the international CMR Advisory Council, which is completing its work on the first opinion on the interpretation of the provisions of the CMR Convention. This forum shapes the practice and study of transport law at the global level.
