On June 21, 2022 at 17:00 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin at Narutowicza Street 17a, in room 217, a lecture entitled “War in Ukraine will end eventually, but what then?”, which was attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests. The meeting was held in English.

The event was an extraordinary opportunity to reflect on how, using the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the introduction of transitional justice after the end of the war in Ukraine should look like. The lecture was conducted by prof. Dr. Goran Šimić, acting as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of “Vitez” in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Professor is an outstanding lawyer, scientist and teacher.


From May 17, 2022 to June 24, 2022, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a course entitled Transitional Justice. The event was held remotely in English via MS Teams and was attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests.

The course was led by Goran Šimić Assoc. Prof. PhD from the University of “VITEZ” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he is the Dean of the Faculty of Law. The Professor is an outstanding lawyer, scientist and teacher.


On May 17, 2022 at 10:00-11:30 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin at Narutowicza Street 17a, room 217, two guest lectures were given by lecturersfrom the University of Szeged from Hungary, who were on exchange under the Erasmus program.

The event was attended by members of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, the academic community and the gathered guests. Lecture entitled “Reasoning of administrative authority decisions: procedural rights – national security – classified information in Hungary” will be delivered by Ph. D. Erzsebet Csatlos, and the lecture entitled “Local self-governments in the state of danger in Hungary” Ph. D. Judith Siket.


From April 13, 2022 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a course entitled “Digitalization and the Criminal Law”. The event was held remotely in English, and certificates of participation were provided for the participants of the training.

The course was conducted by István Ambrus Ph.D. dr. habilitation. Associate Professor at Eötvös Loránd University. He is an associate professor of substantive criminal law at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary. In 2012, he obtained a PhD on the basis of a thesis on the confluence of crimes. He has been teaching criminal law at leading universities in Hungary for 13 years and is a visiting professor in Belgium, Sweden, Lithuania and Germany. He also worked as a prosecutor for several years.


On April 29, 2022 at 11:00 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a lecture entitled “Ways out of the European Housing Crisis – Alternativ and Intermediate Tenures in Comparative Perspective”, attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and gathered guests. The event was held in English remotely via MS Teams.

The lecture was conducted by prof. Dr. Christoph U. Schmid, Ph.D. from the University of Bremen – University of Bremen in Germany. Professor’s research areas: European private and commercial law, comparative law and legal theory, interdisciplinary relations with political science and integration theory. Current research projects on judicial governance in the EU, in particular the role of the European Court of Justice in private law and tenancy and real estate law in Europe.


On April 11, 2022 at 15:00 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a lecture entitled “Comparative Law as a Medium for Dialogue between the European Courts”, which was attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and gathered guests.

The event was held in English remotely via MS Teams. The lecture was conducted by Prof. Sabrina Praduroux, who is currently Assistant Professor of Comparative Law at the Law School of the University of Turin, Italy, and Visiting Lecturer at the American University Washington College of Law, USA.

 



On March 29, 2022 at 13:30 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin at Narutowicza Street 17a, in room 222, a lecture entitled “European Union Regulation of Heritage and Sustainable Tourism”, attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and gathered guests. The meeting was held in English and registration was required. The lecture was conducted by Dr. Mensah Cocou Marius, who is an assistant

professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor, Slovenia. He is a scholarship holder of the prestigious Jean Monnet module (2022-2025) with the subject: European Union Regulation of Heritage. Dr. Mensah is a specialist in international law, environmental protection, and most of his articles deal with sustainable development and international legal issues.



From March 7 to March 11, 2022, from 9:00-11:30 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a course entitled “Local Self-Government and Fiscal Decentralization in Europe”, consisting of five meetings. This event was attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and registered guests, and the number of places was limited. The meetings were held remotely in English via MS Teams.

The course covered the subject of public interest and the concept of the state, areas and levels of local government, fiscal decentralization with a comparison of selected systems of local government in Europe. All courses were conducted by prof. call Dr. Boštjan Brezovnik, associate professor of “Administrative Law and Public Administration Law” and lecturer at New University, Faculty of European Law (Slovenia); University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Law (Slovenia) and UMCS, Faculty of Law and Administration (Poland).


 On December 6, 2021 at 17:45-20:15 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, a lecture entitled “The impact of war crimes committed in the Bosnian war on present day Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which was attended by members of this Faculty, the academic community and gathered guests. The meeting was held in English and was conducted both in-person and online.

The lecture was conducted by prof. Dr. Goran Šimić, acting as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of “Vitez” in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Professor is an outstanding lawyer, scientist and teacher. The subject of the lecture was the impact of past war crimes on today’s Bosnia and Herzegovina and the teaching of history in schools in this regard.
