On 8 March 2023, Dr Ewa Michałkiewicz-Kądziela, Plenipotentiary of the Rector for International Cooperation of the Faculty of Law of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Spain, visited the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Spain. She gave a lecture to Human Rights Master Degree students on the current situation related to the protection of human rights in Poland.
Ph.D. dr. habil. Associate Professor Maciej Jońca was a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Classics, University of Cambridge, from 9 to 16 January 2023. The main purpose of his visit was to conduct research queries related to the study of the use of legal Latin in ancient literary sources. During the trip, he also attended a Fellows’ meeting at the Lauterpacht Centre of International Law and visited the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford, where he interviewed Roman Law lecturer Professor Helen Scott.
On 8 December 2022, Dr Ewa Michalkiewicz-Kądziela presented a lecture entitled ‘Polish Controversy in Sejm and “good legislation”‘ to students of the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic). The lecture was part of the course ‘Legislation in European Countries’, which was co-authored by eminent law specialists from universities in the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and the UK and dealt with contemporary legislative challenges in European countries.
In November 2022, Prof. US dr hab. Maciej Jońca was at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Italy, where he gave a lecture entitled “Unico sarcofago di un giovane avvocato milanese di epoca romana” (‘A unique sarcophagus of a young Milanese jurist from the Roman era’), in which he analysed what an iconographic analysis of a work of art can tell us about the realities of the life and work of ancient Roman jurists.
Dr Dominika Skoczylas was on a teaching visit to Universita Degli Studi Di Foggia, Italy, from 4 to 8 October 2022. The aim of the visit was to improve her teaching competences and skills in teaching in a foreign language (English), as well as to present comparative legal research in the matter of existing legal regulations in the area of cyber security. During the visit, the doctor gave two lectures. The first was on cyber security and legal solutions to ensure interoperability and security of electronic services. The second was entitled „Environmental protection in Poland. Aspects of international cooperation for land protection. Climate protection as a common good”.
