On June 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin was held online lecture entitled “Transformation of Georgian Competition Legislation and its Approximation to EU Law,” attended by members of the Faculty, the academic community, and guests. The event was held remotely in English via MS Teams, and registration was required. The lecture was led by Prof. Salome Kavtaradze, a specialist in competition and commercial law.

Prof. Salome Kavtaradze is a lecturer at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University in Tbilisi and an active member of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Affairs Agency. For many years, she has been involved in the process of adapting Georgian competition law to European Union standards, combining academic knowledge with institutional practice.

The lecture discussed the processes of transformation of the competition protection system in Georgia, the directions of its harmonization with EU law and the practical challenges related to European integration in the area of market regulations.


On May 27, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, at 17a Narutowicza Street, Room 120, was held open lecture entitled “Protected Interests in European and Italian Bankruptcy Law,” attended by members of the Faculty, the academic community, and guests. The event was held in English. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Eustachio Cardinale.

Professor Eustachio Cardinale, representing the University of Bari Aldo Moro, presented an excellent opportunity to familiarize himself with current trends in European and Italian bankruptcy law. He discussed the conflicting interests of participants in bankruptcy proceedings and the legal tools available to protect them under EU and national regulations.

The speaker presented a comparative perspective on the regulation of bankruptcy law, a combination of theoretical reflection with practical experience in the area of ​​enterprise restructuring, the possibility of open discussion and exchange of views with the academic community and legal practitioners.

 


On May 6, 2025 at 10.00 in room 121 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin was held open lecture entitled AI in the system of intellectual property rights. A national and European perspective”, in which members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests took part. The event was held in English remotely. The lecture was delivered by prof. Daniela Caterino from Aldo Moro University in Bari (Italy) – a specialist in business law and intellectual property law.

The Professor gave a 1.5-hour open lecture on the challenges and issues related to the protection of intellectual property in the context of the development of artificial intelligence, both at the national and European level.

Prof. Daniela Caterino is an ordinary professor of economic law at the University of Bari, where he teaches advanced company law and intellectual property law. He is the Dean of MBA Studies at DJSGE Department. In the past, she was a visiting professor of international economic law at the University of La Matanza in Buenos Aires and a member of the Italian Banking Arbitration Council. He is currently working as a of counsel with the first benefit law firm in Italy – FreeblyTM in Milan. Her research interests include copyright law, corporate governance and current intellectual property problems in the age of AI.


On April 9, 2025 at 10.00 a lecture was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin entitled “Scope of same-sex marriage in India. Comparative Study with the United States”, in which members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests took part. The event was held in English remotely, via MS Teams, and registration was required. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Snehasis De.

The lecture was an event accompanying the National Scientific Conference “Legal Policies of Partnerships in Poland”, held on the same day in Szczecin.

Mr. Snehasis De is a lawyer and law researcher from Calcutta, India, who has earned the title of B.A. LL.B. at the University of Calcutta, at the Faculty of Law, and currently continues his master’s studies (LL.M.) with a specialization in constitutional and administrative law at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in Lavasa. He has experience in litigation in the District Court and the Supreme Court of Calcutta, which allows him to combine the theory of law with a practical view of the legal profession. His scientific interests are focused on constitutional systems, analysis of jurisprudence and administrative legal structures. In addition to academic and professional activities, Snehasis De is an active member of the Rotaract Club of Calcutta, where he is involved in projects related to raising legal awareness and social initiatives. Thanks to his comprehensive experience, he is a valued speaker in the field of legal research, constitutional law and public policy.


On December 12, 2024 at 8.15 a lecture was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin entitled Freedom of Religion and Belief”, in which members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests took part. The event was held in English remotely, via MS Teams, and registration was required. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Tsisia Okropiridze from the Faculty of Law of the Georgian University of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani.

 

Ms. Tsisia Okropiridze is a lawyer, PhD student and assistant at the Faculty of Law of the Georgian University of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani. She is also the Head of the Anti-Discrimination Law Center, operating at her alma mater, which has been supporting values ​​such as dignity, freedom and equality since 2021. The Center brings together lawyers, scientists, activists and students, undertaking educational initiatives, offering free consultations and cooperating with national and international institutions in the field of human rights and anti-discrimination law. A recognized specialist in the field of human rights, international and constitutional law, author of scientific publications and lecturer in the field of human rights and anti-discrimination.


 

On November 18, 2024 at 8.15 a lecture was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin entitled “Upper Chambers as a Source of Democratic Resilience: A Lesson from Czechia”, in which members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests took part. The event was held in English remotely, via MS Teams, and registration was required. The lecture was delivered by Dr Jan Hruška from Masaryk University in Brno.

Dr. Jan Hruška holds a PhD from the Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University. His research focuses on bicameralism, electoral behavior, political institutions, and Czech politics. In his doctoral dissertation, Dr. Hruška examined the perceived role and legitimacy of the Czech Senate.

 


On 15 October , 2024 from hour 10:05 to hour 12:30 a lecture was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin entitled “The Keepers of the Freedom of Peaceful Assembly: Lawmakers, Authorities, and Courts”, in which members of this Faculty, the academic community and the gathered guests took part. The event was held in English remotely, via MS Teams, and registration was required.

The idea was to discuss international standards, domestic constitutions, legislation and court decisions regarding assemblies. The seminar was a unique engage with and learn from distinguished professors from Brazil, Hungary, India, Japan, Poland and Romania. This diverse panel of experts provided invaluable insights into the global landscape of freedom of assembly.

Co-organizers of the conference was the University of Szczecin, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Manipal University Jaipur, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Kyoto University.
