    Contemporary Challenges for (Uniform) Private Law – The Second International Scientific Seminar

    The Research Team of Civil Law Problems of Economic Turnover, operating at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, invites you to the international seminar – Contemporary Challenges of (Uniform) Private Law, which is being held for the second time. The topics of this edition of the seminar are broader than before and include not only uniform international law, but also issues related to international private law and European law.

    Speakers at the seminar will be exceptional experts on the topics presented: Dr. Marta Kolacz from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, who will present issues related to the regulation of the contract of carriage in the uniform law; Dr. Dafina Sarbinova of Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria, with a presentation titled The Rules on Jurisdiction in International Transport Conventions in the Context of the General EU Law Jurisdictional Regime – Precedence or Coordination? Prof. Matías Irigoyen Testa of the National University of the South (Universidad Nacional del Sur) in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, who will deliver a lecture titled Economics Analysis of European Law: the Development Risk Defense; Dr. Magdalena Wasylkowska-Michór of the University of Zielona Góra, who will give a talk on the topic: Does the Rome II Regulation really unify the law applicable to non-contractual obligations? A critical analysis;

    The seminar will be held in hybrid mode on April 23, 2024, from 13:30 to 15:30 in room 219 in the building of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin, 17a Narutowicza Street, and on the MS Teams platform. You are cordially invited to participate in the event, which will provide an opportunity to exchange views on the title issue. The seminar is open to all, and participation is free of charge.
