The Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin is pleased to invite you to the International Scientific Conference entitled „Evolution of Human Rights Law”, organized in cooperation with the Interuniversity Master UPO-UNIA in Human Rights, Interculturality and Development from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville.

The conference will take place on May 24, 2023 in a hybrid formula -in person in Szczecin (Poland) and online. All panels will be conducted in English.

We encourage you to submit applications for participation in four thematic areas:
– Contemporary Challenges of International Human Rights Law,
– Human Rights, Sustainability and Climate Change: The Great Challenges of the 21st Century,
– Human Rights and Migration in a Changing World,
– The breakdown of International Humanitarian Law and the challenge of sustainable peace.

Persons interested in participating in the conference are asked to send abstracts of their speeches by April 24, 2023 to the following address: ewa.michalkiewicz-kadziela@usz.edu.pl.

Information about the acceptance of the application will be send by e-mail by April 30, 2023.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, participants who want to participate in the conference in person, cover the costs of transport and accommodation on their own.

On the initiative of Dr. Maciej Kubala and with the participation of students of our Faculty – members of the Scientific Circle of Roman Law Actio, on May 8-12, 2023, a scientific and didactic conference was held in Sofia (Bulgaria), organized in cooperation with Prof. Konstantin Tanev and Prof. Diana Marinova (from the Faculty of Law of the University of National and World Economy in Sofia).

The conference consisted of two parts: (I) Research by members of the Actio Circle of the historical remains of the ancient city of Serdica in today’s Sofia, on May 8-10 this year, and (II) “International Interdepartmental Polish-Bulgarian Scientific Legal Session Traces of Roman Empire Culture and Law in Bulgaria”, organized at the Faculty of Law of UNWE in Sofia, thanks to the organizational commitment of Prof. Taneva and Prof. Marinowa. The session was opened by His Rector of UNWE, prof. Dymitr Dymitrov and the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of UNWE, prof. Michael Musov. The papers were delivered in English by: prof. Tanev, Prof. Marinova, Dr. Kubal, six Bulgarian students and eight students of our Faculty.

As part of the project, our students will also present their papers from Sofia during two local sessions organized at our Faculty on May 16 and 23, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the courtroom of the WPiA US court.
